What is Global Entry

Global Entry is an international program, run by the US Customs and Border Protection, that allows members to quickly and easily pass through customs clearance when they re-enter the United States from international destinations. This program has been designed to make the immigration process more efficient, and has proven to be quite popular among frequent travelers who do not wish to wait in long lines for customs clearance.

The Benefits of Global Entry

Global Entry offers a number of benefits for those who choose to join the program. Those who are approved for membership can enjoy an expedited immigration clearance process as well as access to fast-track processing lanes at select airports both in the United States and in other countries. Furthermore, program members can also avail of discounts on TSA Precheck membership and are able to participate in the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Global Entry Rewards program.

How to Enroll in Global Entry

Those who wish to enroll in the Global Entry program must first create an account on the US Customs and Border Protection website. Once their accounts have been created, they can access the Global Entry Application to begin the enrollment process. Those who wish to enroll in the program will have to provide personal information, such as their date of birth and Social Security number, as well as upload necessary documents, such as a government ID, a valid passport and proof of residence. Once the application is completed and submitted, it will then be processed and reviewed my CBP. Those who are approved for the Global Entry program will then be contacted.

It is important to note that there is an application fee associated with the Global Entry program. This fee cannot be paid in cash; it must be paid with a valid credit card. Furthermore, the program is subject to certain restrictions and members will be required to abide by the CBP’s terms and conditions.
