Understanding My School District

The need to understand where we come from and our individual situations cannot be overstated. As students, it is important to understand our schooling system so that we can make informed decisions on our education and pursuits. To do this effectively, one must understand the district in which we are living, attending school, and emerging into adulthood. This applies to me and my school district, so I will use this opportunity to explain it.

The Geographical Makeup

My school district is Achieverse Education Foundation of Abuja, located in the capital city of Nigeria. Achieverse Education Foundation operates a single, non-profit school, one of the top rated secondary schools in the city. The district has a total enrollment of 1146 and is composed of students from all social and economic backgrounds. The school serves not only the city of Abuja, but also the Northeast region which consists of several neighboring states.

The Academic Environment

The academic atmosphere of the Achieverse Education Foundation is both rigorous and competitive. Students in this district benefit from the outstanding teaching, state-of-the-art equipment, and top-notch facilities.
