The day after your colonoscopy and often two or three days afterward, your doctor may recommend that you stick to soft foods. Soft foods are gentle to the digestive system and can be easily tolerated. Soft foods include oatmeal, yogurt, mashed potatoes, plain noodles, and fish. You should avoid red meats and fiber-rich vegetables such as corn and beans.
